Giancarlo Capodanno

Giancarlo “Gio” Capodanno serves as VP of Wealth Management and Retirement Income Planning at Prosperity Capital Advisors. He has over a decade of experience working with clients to build comprehensive strategies that address investment management, consider their retirement income needs, and integrate all their financial moving parts into a cohesive plan.

In addition to earning his Bachelor of Science in business management from Salem State University, he received his Master of Science in accounting from New Jersey City University. This combination of business and accounting knowledge, along with his CFP® certification and passion for making financial planning straightforward and actionable, gives him a unique ability to spot opportunities others might miss while keeping explanations clear and practical.

Gio believes that every piece of a financial plan should work together rather than standing alone. He looks at how taxes, investments, Social Security, and overall retirement planning can be coordinated to create better outcomes. His knowledge in this holistic approach has made him a sought-after speaker at the New Jersey Board of Bar Examiners (NJBAR) and New Jersey Association of Legal Administrators (NJALA) conferences, as well as various CPA and law firms.

Passionate about advancing the financial planning profession, Gio hosts educational workshops with the American Financial Education Alliance (AFEA). His teaching reflects Prosperity Capital Advisors‘ commitment to teaching both clients and other professionals about more holistic financial approaches.

A Mountainside native, Gio now calls Cranford home with his wife and two children. He loves spending time with his family, cooking, and staying active through hockey, cycling, snowboarding, and hiking.
