Don Chamberlin III, also known as DC, is a member of the Investment Committee for Valor Capital Management. With over ten years of experience in the financial services industry, DC is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) who specializes in financial planning and wealth management.

After years of watching his father assist people with holistic retirement planning, DC developed an interest in the financial services industry. He worked part-time at the Chamberlain Group while he earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration and became an investment advisor in 2009. Today, he oversees the firm’s investment management and provides fee-only financial planning services to the firm’s clientele.

DC is a member of the Financial Planning Association (FPA®); he holds an Accredited Wealth Management Advisor (AWMA®) designation and Series 65 license. In 2013, DC was recognized as the top advisor for Prosperity Capital Advisors.

DC loves to watch sports and travel the world with his wife, Reshma, who co-founded a direct-to-consumer women’s swimwear business called Summersalt.

CFP® and CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ are certification marks owned by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. These marks are awarded to individuals who successfully complete the CFP Board’s initial and ongoing certification requirements.
Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. (CFP Board) was founded in 1985 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that serves the public interest by promoting the value of professional, competent and ethical financial planning services, as represented by those who have attained CFP® certification. CFP Board sets and enforces the requirements for CFP® certification, including: education, examination, experience, and ethics, Individuals who successfully complete CFP Board’s initial and ongoing certification requirements are authorized to use the CFP® certification marks in the United States.
The CFF (Certified Financial Fiduciary) designation is granted by the National Association of Certified Financial Fiduciaries.  A CFF candidate must have 10 years of relevant work experience or 5 years of experience with a relevant bachelor’s degree or graduate degree and the must complete the candidate applicant profile, disclosure questionnaire and pass a criminal background check.  A CFF candidate must complete an in-person training class, complete a final designation exam and complete 10 hours of continuing education annually.
